UP Assembly: ‘UP is not sick, self -sufficient state is becoming’, said CM Yogi

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing attack on Samajwadi Party (SP) during a 24 -hour marath discussion on ‘Vision Document 2047’ in the monsoon session of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. Describing the SP as limited to familyism, he said that his government has made UP a symbol of good governance without discrimination and appeasement. Yogi, while describing the achievements of his government, claimed the economic progress of UP and improvement in law and order.

Taking a dig at the SP, the Chief Minister taunted, “The world is moving forward, but you are limited to the family. So I was talking about ‘Family Development Authority’.” The Chief Minister directly attacked the SP’s family ideology. Yogi said that in the 1980s, Uttar Pradesh started declining and after 1990 it became a ‘sick’ state. He accused the death of children due to encephalitis during the SP rule and nepotism in jobs.

The rule of law and good governance

Emphasizing the achievements of his government, Yogi said, “The rule of law was established after our government came in 2017. Government schemes were implemented without discrimination and appeasement. Today Good Governance has become the identity of Uttar Pradesh.” He claimed that his government has put the state on the path of development by curbing crime and corruption.

Claim of economic progress

The Chief Minister gave a detailed details of the economic progress of India and Uttar Pradesh. He said, “India was the sixth largest economy in the world in 1947, but it slipped at 10th position in 1960 and 11th in 1990s. After 2014 our government brought it to seventh position in 2017 and India became the fourth largest economy in the world in 2024.”

Talking about UP’s economy, Yogi said, “By 2017, UP’s contribution to the country’s GDP had come down to 8%. Our government increased it to 9.5%. By 2017, UP used to export Rs 84,000 crore, which has now increased to Rs 1 lakh 86,000 crore.” He described this achievement as the result of the success of UP’s industrial and export policies.

Emphasis on ‘Vision 2047’

Speaking on ‘Vision Document 2047’, Yogi said that this document is a roadmap to make Uttar Pradesh a developed and self -sufficient state by 2047. He appealed to all parties for creative cooperation in this direction. Yogi said, “Our goal is to make UP the strongest economy in the country. This vision is not only of BJP, but of the entire state.”
