The Yogi government has taken several important steps to connect the police department with technology to curb crime and criminals in the state under the zero tolerance policy. The Yogi government has expanded the forensic science laboratory in the last eight years to prevent crime, identity of criminals and effectively in the court. At the same time, a forensic institute was also established in the state, so that the youth of the state can make a career in the field of forensic. Also, through this, criminals including cyber crime can be punished on the basis of forensic evidence through forensic.

State’s first forensic institute
The Yogi government has established the first Forensic Institute in the state. Currently this institute is a major center of forensic education and research. Training is being provided to students including trainee scientists, police officers and personnel associated with investigation here. Also, research work is being done on new techniques. With this, Uttar Pradesh is getting a new identity in the field of forensic science not only at national but also internationally. It is the result of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visionary thinking that not only the Forensic Science laboratories were expanded in the state, but they have also been equipped with state -of -the -art resources. Increase in the number and capacity of Forensic Science Laboratories in the state, inclusion of modern technology and the appointment of trained scientists has accelerated the pace of crime control in the state. These steps taken on forensic science are not only limited to punish the criminals, but they are also strengthening the spirit of justice and security in the society. This initiative is proving to be a milestone towards making Uttar Pradesh a safe, just and modern state.

There were only 4 laboratories before 2017, now 12 active
Before the year 2017, only 4 Forensic Science Laboratory was operated in the state. These laboratories were being operated in Lucknow, Varanasi, Agra and Ghaziabad. At the same time, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi, the state government decided to establish new laboratories with the aim of strengthening crime control and justice system. As a result 8 new laboratories were established after the year 2017. At present, a total of 12 Forensic Sciences Laboratory are active in the state. These include Jhansi, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Bareilly, Ganda, Aligarh and Moradabad. This expansion of the Yogi government has proved to be a revolutionary step towards crime investigation. Earlier, where there was a delay in disposal of cases due to limited number of available laboratories, police and courts are receiving time -bound reports from available laboratories in various districts.

The work of setting up 6 new laboratories in the state continues
The state government has decided to open new centers in more districts keeping in mind the need for forensic laboratories equipped with modern technologies. In this sequence, the work of setting up 6 new laboratories in Ayodhya, Basti, Banda, Azamgarh, Mirjapur and Saharanpur is in progress. After the commencement of these laboratories, the process of crime control and evidence compilation in the state will become even more effective. Forensic science laboratories of Uttar Pradesh have achieved another major achievement. Under the NAFIS (National Automated Finger Print Identification System), the fingerprint bureau and its connected network have been made hi -tech at the state level. This has added 9 units of STF, 1 unit of ATS and 12 units of GRP. At the same time, hardware and software have been established on 98 locations. Due to this system, the state has got the first place in the dashboard issued by NCRB New Delhi. So far, about 4,14,473 fingerprints have been digitized. This has made the identity of criminals and the process of matching unknown bodies simple and quick.

Revolutionary change in the identity of criminals
Through NAFIS, the police department is getting information about the identity of criminals and their old activities. At the same time, this technology is also playing an important role in the identity of unknown bodies. As a result, there is success in crime control and quick action against criminals. The government has enforced three new Acts (BNS, BNSS, BSA-2023) in recent years, for which the appointment of scientists and experts in Forensic Science Laborators has also been emphasized for effective implementation. Trained scientists have been deployed in various units through new recruitment. These scientific deliberations, evidence collection, laboratory analysis and beet based policing are contributing significantly.

CM Yogi will inaugurate in Forensic Institute program on Monday
CM Yogi will inaugurate the three -day international summit of Uttar Pradesh State Forensic Science Institute (UPSIFS) on Monday. Important topics such as cyber, multilateral legal framework, forensic and strategic counterants will be discussed in the program. The aim of this three -day summit is focused on understanding the relationship between cyber security, international legal framework, forensic science and taking steps towards strategic counselor in the field. Experts from all over the world will be present at the conference, who will present their views on subjects related to cyber crime and criminal science. The program will be held in the auditorium of Uttar Pradesh State Forensic Science Institute.
