Scientists have designed a unique spacecraft ‘Chrisalis’, which is more than Delhi in length. Its length is 58 kilometers. While the length of Delhi is 51.9 km. Travel up to Alpha Century
Alpha Century is 25 trillion miles (40 trillion kilometers) away from Earth, which is our nearest star system. This vehicle named ‘Chrisalis’ can complete this journey in 400 years. This means that many generations will be born and die in this vehicle, because only their ancestors will start this journey. This vehicle will field people on a planet called Proxima Century B, which is a planet which is considered to be living. It is the shape of the Earth.
The project has won the first place in the ‘Project Hyperian Design Competition’, in which teams have to have several generations in space It was challenged to design the living ship. The winning team received a reward of US $ 5,000.
How will life be in ‘Chrisalis’?
People have to prepare first to live in this vehicle. Scientists have a plan that the initial generations will have to stay in an isolated area like Antarctica for 70-80 years, so that their mental health is good. After this, the vehicle can be made in 20-25 years.
The size and gravity of the vehicle: ‘Chrisalis’ will be 36 miles (58 km) long. Artificial gravity will be made in it, so that people feel like earth.
Russian doll -like design: This vehicle will be made in many layers, such as Russian dolls. There will be a core in the middle. There will be different layers around it.
Corner: It will have shuttles which will take people off the Proxima Century B, as well as communication equipment.
First layer: There will be to produce food, which will have trees, plants, fungi, insects and animals. Tropical and cold forests like tropical and cold forests will be created so that biodiversity remains.
Second layer: There will be places like parks, schools, hospitals and library.
Third layer: There will be houses in which air and heat will be arranged.
Fourth layer: Will be for work, which will have recycling, medicines and manufacturing facilities.
Fifth layer: There will be a warehouse, where resources, materials and machines will be kept. Robots will run this level, so that humans have to work less.
Electricity: In the vehicle, electricity will be created from the nuclear fusion reactor, which is not yet available at a commercial level.
Population Control: Birth will be employed so that the population remains around 1500, which is less than the capacity of the vehicle (2400).
Governance and technology
The rule of the vehicle will run in association with artificial intelligence (AI). This will keep the stability of the society, knowledge will be shared between generations. The entire system of vehicle can be monitored.
