Rejecting speculation of differences between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), senior leader of the party and the Sangh Ram Madhav said that both organizations are part of the same ideological family. In a conversation with news agency ANI, the former BJP national general secretary said, “These speculations are made from time to time. If no one gets an issue, it is said that the RSS and BJP are stressed. RSS and BJP are two organizations associated with an ideological family.”
He clarified that the BJP is active in the field of politics, while the Sangh stays out of politics and works through social service. He said that there is no tension between the two.
Ram Madhav’s statement came at a time when the Congress targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for praising RSS in the Independence Day 2025 address. The Congress described it as an insult to the constitution. In response, Ram Madhav said that the Prime Minister’s speech was inspiring for the volunteers and it recognized the service of 100 years of the Sangh.
He said, “Some people oppose RSS for political reasons. Some Congress leaders have been doing the same for a long time. But everyone knows that RSS stays away from politics and works for society and religion, prepares good citizens. At the lower level, people of every background have an opportunity to work.”
Ram Madhav also said that it also includes Congress background people, but some people feel that they will get political benefits by opposing RSS.
Earlier, senior RSS leader Arun Kumar also said that BJP and Sangh work with mutual confidence and both move forward under their independent processes.
