There are many countries in the world where the population crisis has deepened. Among them, the friendly country of India is the head of Japan, where the population has fallen for the 16th consecutive year. In 2024, Japan’s population declined by more than 9 lakh 8. This means that more number of people who died in the country are more than those who die. If a similar situation continues, Japan must have been struggling with the crisis of existence in the coming years. Japan goes to healthy people and longevity life. But continuously the young population decreasing and the increase in the number of elderly people is also increasing the burden on the health structure there.
Such a situation has been termed as ‘Silent Emergency’ by Japan’s PM Shigeru Ishiba. He says that the crisis of the population of humans in the country has deepened. He said that we will focus on family friendly policies, such as free childcare and working hours, a flexible stance will be taken. There are still many such policies in Japan, but women are not ready to have more children. Not only this, there are a large number of women in Japan who have not given birth to a single child nor want to give.
Such a small number of children born for the first time in 125 years
The birthday in Japan is currently 1.2. The intimidating figure is that in the year 2024, only 6,86,061 children were born in Japan, while 1.6 million people died. 1 million more people died compared to those born in this way. Straightly, if a child was born, two people died. At present, the population of Japan is 12 crores and if there is a decrease in the number of such human resources, then there will be a crisis of human resource in the country. This will make it difficult from economy to normal human life. Japan has the lowest children in 2024 in the last 125 years of history.
Japan’s population declines for the 16th consecutive year
Apart from this, this is the 16th consecutive year, when the population of Japan has declined such a big decline. This situation is when a large number of foreigners have settled in Japan. According to the data of January 1, 2025, outsiders have 3 per cent stake in the total population of Japan. Within the last one year, the total population of Japan has decreased by 0.44 percent. To compensate for this, Japan has tried to invite foreigners, but this plan is also unable to climb.
The number of elderly over 65 years of age is 30 percent
The total population of Japan has now increased to 30 per cent of the elderly above 65 years of age. This is the second largest data in the world, Monaco at number one. In Japan, only 60 percent of the population is currently in working age i.e. between 15 and 64 years. Not only this, the way the birthplace is decreasing, the number of elderly can be more than the youth in the coming few years.
