PM Modi: Heat brings destruction, unity and protecting humanity is necessary

In the year 1947, the partition of India was not only of land, but also a division of hearts. Millions of people lost their homes, loved ones and their identity. Blood -soaked rail tracks, trains filled with lifeless bodies and tears, bereaved faces became one of the most frightening pictures of human history. To remember this pain and to warn generations to come, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared the day of August 14 as ‘Partition Vibhisika Memorial Day’.
The purpose of ‘Partition Vibhashika Memorial Day’ Day is to remember that the fire of hatred only brings destruction, and we should protect our unity, love and humanity at all costs.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote in a social media post, “Remembering the upheaval and pain faced by countless people during a tragic chapter in our history, India is celebrating ‘Partition Vibhisika Memorial Day’. It is also a day to respect their courage. It is their ability to face unimaginable damage and still get the strength to get a renewed start.”
He further said that many people affected by this tragedy resumed their lives and achieved great achievements. This day also reminds us of our permanent responsibility to strengthen the bond of harmony that threads our country in one thread.
‘Many lessons can be learned…’
Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar said, “Partition has given a lot of pain and it had far -reaching human and strategic results. On ‘Partition Vibhisika Memorial Day’, we remember the patience of those who endured this terrible tragedy. Many lessons can be learned from this painful chapter.
Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said in a social media post, “I pay homage to those who sacrificed their lives in the broader violence and fierce genocide after this non-invisible partition and many of those survivors, including my parents, have also paid homage to those who have their parents.
The Union Minister further said that people who were forced to start their lives in India as helpless partition refugees. The horrors of partition will always remember the coming generations.
