After Jagdeep Dhankhar’s sudden resignation from the post of Vice President, now the name of the next Vice President has started getting speculation. So far, the names of many big leaders have been revealed in the list of probables. Now another big and shocking name has been included in it. In fact, Union Minister of State and JDU MP Ramnath Thakur met BJP national president JP Nadda on Wednesday evening, after which there is speculation that he is also involved in the Vice President’s race. Ramnath Thakur is the son of former Bihar Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur and is currently the Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in the Modi government with JDU quota.
Who is Ramnath Thakur, why joined the race?
Ramnath Thakur is a big face coming from Bihar. He is the elder son of former state CM Karpoori Thakur. He has also been a part of Lalu Yadav’s first cabinet and was then made a sugarcane minister. Then from 2005 to 2010, he was a cabinet minister in the Nitish government. His father Karpoori Thakur has been awarded the Bharat Ratna some time ago. Several reasons are being reported for Ramnath Thakur to join the race of Vice President. In fact, Bihar assembly elections are going to be held later this year and in such a situation, if the NDA government makes a leader coming from there the Vice President, then a big message will go before the election and the current government can get the benefit of it in the state.
Will the Vice President make Ramnath Thakur to help JDU?
At the same time, by making Ramnath Thakur the Vice President, the BJP can run the government at the Center for five years without any problem. The BJP does not have a majority in the Lok Sabha at this time and is running the government with the help of JDU and TDP. For this reason, the post of Vice President can also be given to a leader from JDU quota. Earlier, there was speculation about Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, but later his name was almost out of the race. Nitish would not like to distance himself from the post of Chief Minister just before the Bihar assembly elections. For this reason, now Ramnath Thakur’s name has come in the race from JDU in his place. If the NDA government makes Ramnath Thakur the Vice President, then Nitish Kumar will also continue in the race for the next CM of the state and a big post like Vice President will also be given to his own party leader.
