Maharashtra’s new initiative for maratha community
The Maharashtra government has announced a significant decision following the indefinite Hunger Strike by Manoj Jarange Patil at Azad Maidan. This Initiative Aims to Streamline The Process for Issuing Kunbi, Kunbi-Maratha, or Marath-Kunbi Caste Certificates to Members of the Marathaa Community. This movie comes in response to recommendations from a committee line by retired justice sandeep shinde, which was tasked with studying records from hyderabad, Satara, and the Bombay Gazette.
Due to the history, social, and cultural ties between the marath and kunbi communities in the Marathwada region, the demand for caste-based reservations for maraths for decades. Over the past two years, the shinde committee has visited all eight districts of Marathwada and Uncovered Thousands of Documents Related to the Kunbi Community, ALSO GATHRON RECORDS from ARCHIVERDS in HISHIVARDERATE Delhi.

The government has decided to establish local committees at the Village level to verify claims and submit reports to the competent authority.
Composition of Each Village-Level Committee
The Village-Level Committee will include:
Village Revenue Officer
Village Panchayat Officer
Assistant Agricultural Officer
How to Apply for Kunbi Caste Certificate
Members of the Maratha Community Who Do Not Possess Land Ownership Records Can Submit An Affidavit Confirming that they or their ancestors resided in the area before october 13, 1967.
If a relative with the village or extended family alredy holds a kunbi caste certificate, the applicant can present an affidavit afidavit estublishing the relationship. The committee will then verify the lineage and prepare a report.
Based on the committee’s findings, the commentant authority will decide with the issue to is the kunbi caste certificate.
