Lashkar terrorist arrested for the first time in South Korea, Pakistani was working by hiding identity

Pakistan has become the biggest exporter of terrorism in the whole world. India has been fighting a war against Pak -funded terrorism for decades. But now Pakistani terrorists have reached South Korea. South Korean police have arrested a Pakistani man in Itavon district of Seoul, who is a member of Lashkar-e-Taiba, a terrorist organization responsible for the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
Was doing a job by changing identity
According to the report of ‘Korea Herald’, this terrorist was working in a store in the local market by changing the identity. Officials of the Gyonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency said that the 40 -year -old suspect has been arrested in violation of the Anti -Terrorism Act and the Immigration Act. He was caught on August 2 in Itavon-Dong, Seoul, where he was working in the local market.
Investigators found that the suspect joined Lashkar-e-Taiba in Pakistan in 2020, took training in the use of weapons and infiltration strategy and became the official member of the organization. He entered South Korea in December 2023 using a visa obtained from the South Korean Consulate in Pakistan in September. He allegedly came to South Korea as a businessman, who intended to do business in the country.
Lashkar terrorist caught for the first time
However, he is not accused of plotting or executing any terrorist incident in South Korea. But his connection to Lashkar-e-Taiba violates Section 17 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, which prohibits joining terrorist groups. The suspect allegedly denied the allegations.
Police officers are investigating to find out if he sent any money to Lashkar. This is the first time that the Korean Police has arrested a member of the group declared a terrorist organization on behalf of the United Nations Security Council.
Lashkar’s hand behind Mumbai attack
Lashkar-e-Taiba was listed as a terrorist organization in May 2005, being associated with Al-Qaeda, Osama bin Laden or Taliban. It supported bin Laden and these colors, as well as funding for terrorist activities and helped in training, logistics and infrastructure to carry forward terrorist activities through its proxy organization, Jamaat-ud-Dawa.
Lashkar is responsible for several terrorist incidents, including a terrorist attack in Pahalgam district of Kashmir on 22 April, in which 26 people were killed and 20 were injured. Apart from this, Lashkar had a hand in the 2008 Mumbai attack, in which more than 160 people were killed.
