Railways Grants Promotions to Cricketers

The Ministry of Railways has awarded out-of-turn promotions to three Indian cricketers—Sneh Rana, Pratika Rawal, and Renuka Singh Thakur—acknowledging their exceptional roles in India’s victory at the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Railways, these athletes will receive the salary and benefits associated with a Group ‘B’ Gazetted Officer, specifically at Level-8 of the Pay Matrix as outlined by the 7th Central Pay Commission. This initiative by the Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) aims to ensure financial stability for the players while also assigning them administrative duties.
