Toll collection is quite high due to industrial traffic, heavy commercial vehicles and high demand travel routes on these routes. Bharthana Toll Plaza is ranked first on the Vadodara-Bharuch section of Gujarat at the highest-grossing toll plaza, which earned Rs 472.65 crore alone in the year 2023-24. After this, Shahjahanpur Toll Plaza in Rajasthan, Jaladulagori toll plaza of West Bengal, Barjor toll plaza in Uttar Pradesh and Gharaunda toll plaza of Haryana come to fifth to fifth position respectively respectively. All these toll plazas earn hundreds of crores of rupees per year, which shows the financial contribution of the country’s highways.
