Air India clarified on the claim of Congress MPs
On this entire matter, Air India has issued a statement dismissing the claims of both MPs. The airline said, “Chennai diversion was a pre-prevention step, which was taken due to suspected technical issue and bad weather. In the first attempt, Chennai ATC directed Go-Around at the time of landing, but the reason was not to have any other aircraft on the runway.”
Air India further said that their pilots are trained to deal with such situations and all standard procedures were also followed in this flight. The company regretted the incident as an uncomfortable experience for the passengers and said that security is always their first priority.
Congress General Secretary described the journey as annoying
Congress General Secretary and MP KC Venugopal, who is aboard the aircraft, has described the incident as a annoying journey. He said in a post on social media X, “Air India flight number AI 2455 coming from Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi -in which I was riding many MPs and hundreds of passengers -a dreadful tragedy reached. The delayed flight turned into a painful journey. Shortly after flying, we had to face unprecedented disturbances. About an hour after, we announced the aircraft and the aircraft was announced about the aircraft. Turned to the airport, waiting for the permission to land, we did not have a heartbreaking moment during our first attempt – there was another aircraft on the same runway.
Avoid luck and skill of pilot
According to KC Venugopal, the aircraft could avoid the fate of everyone and the skill and understanding of the pilot. He has demanded an inquiry into the incident to decide the accountability in the case. He further said, “We survived the skill and fate of the pilot. The safety of the passengers cannot depend on luck. I urge @DGCAIndia and @Moca_Goi to immediately check the incident, decide the accountability and make sure that such a lapse never happens again.”
Two aircraft allegations on runway rejected
Reacting to the post of KC Venugopal, Air India commented, “Dear Mr. Venugopal, we want to clarify that turning the flight towards Chennai was a precautionary technical problem and bad weather conditions. During the first attempt to land at Chennai Airport, the Go-ARORER was instructed by Chennai ATC, not the presence of a go-a round by Chennai ATC, not the presence of any other aircraft.”
