Since the commencement of special intensive revision of the voter list in Bihar, all the opposition parties including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav are attacked on the Election Commission. The Election Commission, facing allegations like vote theft and disturbances in the voter list, gave a press conference and gave a series of allegations.

This is the first press conference of CEC Gyanesh Kumar after taking over as Chief Election Commissioner from Election Commissioner on 18 February this year. In which he gave a befitting reply to the continuous attacks against the Commission and explained why SIR is happening in Bihar.

On the allegations being made by the opposition continuously on the Election Commission, Chief Election Commissioner Dnyanesh Kumar said, I want to make it clear that there is no party for the Election Commission, nor is there any equivalent for the Opposition Commission. No matter what the party is, the Election Commission will not back down from its constitutional duty.

Why is SIR happening in Bihar?
On the question being raised continuously for voter revision in Bihar, the Chief Election Commissioner said, “For the last two decades, almost all political parties have been demanding improvement in the voter list.” To fulfill this demand, the Election Commission has started intensive revision from Bihar. In the process of SI, all voters, booth level officers and 1.6 lakh BLO nominated by all political parties have prepared a format list. This copy has been given to all. This list was verified by all political parties with signature.

Election Commission made this request to all political parties
The Election Commission said that all voters and political parties are making their valuable contribution to remove errors from this format list. Voters themselves have lodged 28,370 such objections. The Commission said that to remove the errors, the time from August 1 to 1 is fixed in SIR in Bihar. In which there is still a time of 15 days. The Election Commission urged all political parties, booth level agents, all political parties, whatever errors in the voter list should reach the Election Commission.

The Election Commission retaliated by the opposition on the allegations of votes cutting in Bihar on the Election Commission, saying that all the voters, all booth level officers and political parties are working in a transparent manner at the ground level. Voter list is shared with political parties: Election Commission
