At least 10 people are expected to be killed due to cloudburst on Thursday in Padar area of Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir. The officers provided this information. He said that the incident took place in Chashoti area of the district. The accident occurred on the pilgrimage route, causing chaos in the area. Where there has been a cloudburst, the path leads to the temple of Machail Mata. Every year thousands of devotees visit this route to visit Machail Mata.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh spoke to Kishtwar Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma after receiving information about the incident. He wrote on the social media platform ‘X’-“After receiving a necessary message from the Leader of Jammu and Kashmir and local MLA Sunil Kumar Sharma, he spoke to Pankaj Kumar Sharma, the Deputy Commissioner of Kishtwar. There has been a huge cloudburst in the Chashoti area, in which there is a possibility of heavy loss of life. The administration has been active immediately, the rescue and the rescue teams are going on. My office is constantly getting updates, all possible help will be provided. ”
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also expressed deep condolences on the incident and directed to intensify relief and rescue work. He wrote on ‘X’-“I am saddened by a cloudburst in Kishtwar’s Chishoti. I pray for the families of the dead and the injured to get rid of the early recovery. The officers of civil, police, army, NDRF and SDRF have been instructed to strengthen relief work and ensure all possible help to the affected people.”
These days there is heavy monsoon rain in the country, the most impact is being seen in the hilly areas. In Uttarakhand, cloudburst, floods and landslides have caused heavy havoc. Recently, the road was closed due to landslides in Nandprayag in Chamoli district. District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari said that the work of opening the road is going on, while other roads in the district are currently smooth.
There was a huge devastation in Dharli and Harsil villages after the cloudburst and flash flood on August 5 in Uttarkashi. Many houses were washed away due to the fierce debris and water flow in the village of Keer Gad area. The administration has rebuilt the bridge connecting Harsil to Uttarkashi, making it easier for relief material and machinery.
