The aircraft will be able to operate 24 hours from August 16 at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport. The upgradation of the runway of Lucknow Airport and the construction of two new taxi-ways will be completed by Thursday. After testing electronic equipment on Friday, the four -hour ban on the runway from Saturday will be lifted. About 132 blows are operated daily from Lucknow Airport. About 20 thousand passengers travel from Lucknow Airport. The runway upgradation work of the airport started from March 1. The work of upgrading the airfield ground lighting (AGL) from Helogen to LED of the airport’s 2744 meter long runway, a parallel taxi-way of about 110 meters and a new link taxi -way for the tech-off was started.
This work was to be completed by July 15. For this, the runway was closed for eight hours from 10 am to 6 pm for aircraft operation. The closure of the aircraft operations for eight hours a day affected the flying from Lucknow to many cities. Several flights were rested, while eight flights were canceled, which have not started operating yet. In view of the problems being faced by the passengers, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed displeasure, and the runway was closed for six hours from 11 am to 5 pm instead of eight. The term of completing the work was increased from July 15 to August 15. Recently, the period of closure of the aircraft operations was reduced by two hours. Aircraft operations at the airport are now closed from 11 am to 3 pm. This work is also almost complete.

Airport capacity will increase
There are two taxi-ways at Lucknow Airport, on which the aircraft reaches the runway. Two more new links have been formed taxi-ways, so that more flights will be operated at a time. Six to eight in the morning and more flights will be operated in busy times from five to eight in the evening. The 2,744 meter long and 45 meter wide runway of Lucknow Airport and 7.5 meters of shoulder on either side of the runway were done in the year 2018. A total of 1.80 lakh square meters of area including runways and taxi-way has been completed. Converting the Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) system from Helogen to LED will save 50 percent of electricity.
