Amit Shah immediately took cognizance of the disaster in Kathua, talks to the Lieutenant Governor and CM

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday spoke to Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and assured full cooperation for relief work in Kathua district.

Amit Shah wrote in a post on the social media platform X, “Talked to the Lieutenant Governor and Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir in connection with the cloudburst in Kathua. Relief-rescue work is being done by the local administration and the NDRF teams have also reached the spot. The central government assured of all possible cooperation. We are standing strong with our brothers and sisters in Jammu and Kashmir.”

Officials said four people were killed and several others were injured in a cloudburst on Saturday and Sunday in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. He also informed that rescue operations are going on in the affected area.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh posted an update on the cloudburst incident in Kathua and said, “Helicopter services have been arranged to deliver the injured to proper hospitals. 6 6 injured have been admitted to the hospital in Pathankot’s Mamoon, which has been found relatively close. The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Shiv Kumar Sharma, is caming on the spot and there is a constant need. Help will be arranged. ”

Singh had earlier told that he has asked the civil administration, army and paramilitary forces to take immediate action and the situation is constantly being monitored. This is the second incident of cloudburst in Jammu and Kashmir in the last four days. On 14 August, there was a horrific cloud in Chashoti village of Paddar sub-division of Kishtwar district.

So far 65 bodies have been recovered in Kishtwar and more than 100 people have been rescued. In addition, the disappearance of 75 people has been reported by their families, although local people and eyewitnesses claim that hundreds of people must have been washed away in the sudden floods and were buried under huge stones, wood and debris.

The disaster came to Chashoti, the last motor-worthy village of the road leading to Machail Mata temple on August 14 at around 12.25 pm. This destroyed a temporary market, a community kitchen and a security post for Machail Mata Passengers. In this sudden flood, at least 16 residential houses and government buildings, three temples, four panchaksis, a 30 meter long bridge and more than a dozen vehicles were also damaged.
