The Communist Party (Maoist) has announced a shutdown in Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal and Assam on 3 August. The Communist Party (Maoist) has also issued a letter in this regard, appealing to senior party members and workers to join.

The letter mentions that the Eastern Regional Bureau appeals to its party committees, military units and mass organizations to remember the martyrdom of our party general secretary Amar Shaheed Comrade Basavaraj and Comrade Vivek, take inspiration from their revolutionary life and communist ideals and move forward on the way to revolution.

It further stated, “Eastern Regional Bureau is organizing a Smriti Sabha from July 20 to August 3, 2025. To make it successful, to make a group meeting, general meeting and rally in the village, area, to organize a Smriti Sabha by organizing a wide group meeting. Is against the repression being done on the public. “

Comrade Basavaraj was also mentioned in the letter. It said, “On 21 May 2025, after a 60 -hour struggle with the police in the Gundkot mountain of Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, our party general secretary and Polit Bureau member Comrade Basavaraj (Nawala Keshav Rao) was martyred with his party. It was a black day for India’s revolutionary movement on 21 May 2025.”

Let me tell you that on May 21, there was an encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Abujhmad forest in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh, in which 27 Naxalites were killed. The slain Naxalites also included a prize of 1.5 crore Basavaraju, who was 70 years old and a resident of a village in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh.
