In Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath told the assembly that between 2017 and 2025, 6 crore people have risen above the poverty line as a result of the government’s targeted policies and schemes. He said that assistance is being provided to every needy under the ‘Zero Potteri’ campaign in the state.
Benefit from government pension and mass marriage scheme
The Chief Minister said that so far 1 crore 6 lakh families have been awarded an annual pension of ₹ 12,000, which includes old people, destitute women and Divyang. Apart from this, about 4 lakh 77 thousand daughters are yellow under the mass marriage scheme in UP. Assistance was provided by the government in the marriage of these daughters. In which the amount has been increased from Rs 51 thousand to Rs 1 lakh in the form of grant.
Impact of food safety and Ujjwala scheme
Yogi Adityanath said that under the Food Protection Scheme, 15 crore people are being provided regular grains. Apart from this, under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, 1 crore 86 lakh families were provided free gas connection and free cylinder in the festive season.
Emphasis on self -reliant villages and financial inclusion
He informed that efforts are being made to make villages self -sufficient through ‘Annapurna Bhavan’. Also, financial inclusion has been promoted by opening Jan Dhan accounts of 9 crore families. The Chief Minister said that schemes like pension, mass marriage and Annapurna Bhavan are becoming a medium to ensure dignified lives for the weaker sections of the society.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath claims
Yogi Adityanath said that from 1947 to 2017, the benefits of poverty alleviation and social security schemes in the state were only able to reach the limited people, but the target efforts made after 2017 are providing widespread benefits to the poor and weaker sections.
